Photographer, author, artist, visionary. Rene Staud: For over 5 decades, he has been one of the most sought-after and innovative automotive photographers in the industry.
This can be seen in the more than 120 illustrated books he has published to date on the subject of automobiles. He worked exclusively for the Concours am Schloss Bensberg, no one was able to showcase the Uhlenhaut Coupe like him, and Rene Staud turned cars into works of art.

Hardly anyone has accompanied the development of the automotive industry as intensively as he has. And worldwide. He is regarded as the Karl Lagerfeld of the automotive world, the undisputed master of light. Over the last 50 years, he has photographed every important car. And Rene Staud is an outspoken Mallorca fan and, since the beginning of 2024, also a proven ICONS fan.
Rene Staud will be making two significant contributions to ICONS Mallorca from 2 – 5 October 2024: At the charity evening at Castell de Bellver, which will benefit the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, among others, the master photographer will be donating one of his strictly limited, oversized Porsche coffee-table books. This printed work is a treat for car enthusiasts and bibliophile collectors. Rene Staud will sign and date the special edition copy in question and make it available for charity auction on the Bellver evening. He is supporting charity on the island that is so close to his heart.
Rene Staud will also be presented with a monographic exhibition on the public day, Saturday 5 October 2024 in Port Andratx in the local Arte & Casa gallery. The modern gallery – an architectural treat on the café promenade in Port Andratx – will then show photographs by Rene Staud on all three floors and honour the 73-year-old Stuttgart native in a special way. ICONS Mallorca participants will enjoy signing moments, a champagne reception, the opportunity to meet Rene Staud and an exclusive gallery visit with gallery owner Gerd Harnischmacher.
The ICONS organisers are already promising that the charity idea will not be neglected on the public day either. Rene Staud’s enthusiastic support is a special honour for the ICONS … in advance.
