Time for a break, a little refreshment and a unique view. The Santuari de Monti-Sión / Montesion Sanctuary, founded in 1348, is located at an altitude of around 248 metres in the south-east near the town of Porreres. A school was founded here by Jesuits in 1551, which also served as a preparatory school for theological studies. The presbytery was restored in 1890 on the initiative of the Bishop of Mallorca. The road out of Puig de Monti-Sion was built in 1954.

The hill lies almost exactly between the two monastery mountains of Randa and the monastery of Sant Salvador and is a foothill of the Randa massif. There is a good view of the surrounding countryside of Mallorca and the wide plain of Es Plá. The complex of the Santuari de Monti-Sión has a unique pentagonal cloister for Mallorca. The side altars in the architecturally exciting church are dedicated to St Francis, St Barbara and St Thomas Aquinas.
