Eine der bedeutendsten Ver\u00e4nderungen fand zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts statt, als eine Villa nach dem Vorbild des neugotischen Castell de Peralada (Girona) mit einem Turm errichtet wurde, der noch heute die G\u00e4ste beeindruckt. Dieses Anwesen war ein Geschenk von Fernando Truyols y Despuig an seine Frau Magdalena Villalonga, in deren Besitz das Geb\u00e4ude und das dazugeh\u00f6rige Grundst\u00fcck bis zum Verkauf in den 1950er Jahren blieben. Aus dieser Zeit stammt eine gro\u00dfe Kunstsammlung, die noch heute zum Hotel Son Vida geh\u00f6rt. <\/p>\n

Heute f\u00fchrt der Eingang nach nur sechs Stufen direkt in den jahrhundertealten Teil des Castillo – den Teil, den ber\u00fchmte und prominente Pers\u00f6nlichkeiten in seiner Geschichte wahrscheinlich tausendmal durchschritten haben. Am 23. Juni 1961 \u00f6ffnete das Schloss seine Pforten als Luxushotel – das G\u00e4stebuch des Son Vida ist exorbitant \u00fcppig. <\/p>\n

K\u00f6nig Edward VII., bekannt f\u00fcr sein au\u00dfenpolitisches Engagement, kam bereits 1905 nach Mallorca und pr\u00e4gte die Geschichte des Hotels.<\/p>\n

Auf Diktator Francisco Franco (1947) und F\u00fcrst Rainier (1960), die damals die Baustelle von Son Vida besuchten, folgten gro\u00dfe internationale Prominente.<\/p>\n

Und im folgenden Jahr, als der mallorquinische Winzer Jos\u00e9 Luis Ferrer das Hotel feierlich er\u00f6ffnete, kamen sie ebenfalls auf die Insel. Andere Ber\u00fchmtheiten wie der Reeder Onassis und Maria Callas, Grace Kelly, Anthony Quinn nahmen an einem anschlie\u00dfenden Sommerfest teil, das vom F\u00fcrsten von Monaco organisiert wurde. <\/p>\n

Sie alle m\u00fcssen den Blick auf die n\u00e4chtliche Stadt Palma genossen haben, als die Lichter den Ort und die Yachten beleuchteten. Es war die Zeit der ersten modernen Hotels und des Tourismusbooms an der Playa de Palma. <\/p>\n

Im Jahr 1995 wurde das Hotel von der Schorghuber-Gruppe gekauft und in Castillo Hotel Son Vida umbenannt. Im Jahr 2005 wurde das Hotel einer umfassenden Renovierung unterzogen. Heute zieht das Castillo Hotel Son Vida einflussreiche G\u00e4ste aus der ganzen Welt an. Son Vida gilt als die exklusivste und prestigetr\u00e4chtigste Wohngegend auf der Insel. Was einst als eines der wichtigsten Landg\u00fcter im mittelalterlichen Palma galt, ist heute ein Ort, der als edles und zugleich anmutiges Symbol f\u00fcr eine luxuri\u00f6se Wohngegend auf Mallorca gilt. <\/p>\n
